Howard J. Silldorf



Howard Silldorf has been representing clients throughout Southern California since 1982. He has recovered over $200 million for his clients in over 100 cases throughout his successful career. Howard assisted in drafting Civil Code § 6000, the Calderon Act, and has been an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California's legislative council.

Howard has earned the Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Rating of AV Preeminent, denoting an adherence to professional standards of conduct and ethics, reliability, diligence and other criteria relevant to the discharge of professional responsibilities. An AV Preeminent certification mark is a significant rating accomplishment and a testament to the highest level of professional excellence.

As a San Diego lawyer, Howard represented the homeowners association in the seminal case of Ranchwood Communities v. Jim Beat Construction, which established the law regarding unlicensed contractors and their ability to seek contribution and indemnity claims.

Howard has been a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the California Association of Community Managers, (CACM), and was editor of its law journal in 2011– 2012. Howard is an active member of CACM and the Community Association Institute (CAI). He has taught courses on condominium ownership, construction deficiency, and employment law for CACM, CAI, the University of California at San Diego extension, Consumer Attorneys of California, and various bar associations.

Howard has been married to his wife Beverly for over 38 years. Together they have two sons, David and Mark. In his spare time, Howard is an avid golfer.
